“Bloodline: Book 1 of the Reaper Saga” by Blair M. Thorne is a book that lingers in my mind. I purchased this book because I knew the author and wanted it in my collection of local authors’ books. Sci-fi/horror books are not my choice of genre but after reading “Bloodline” I am smitten and look forward to following my newfound character friends when Blair M. Thorne finishes Book 2 in the series. The story flows smoothly, yet took this reader on a surreal roller-coaster ride into minds both good and evil. I traveled with the characters in strange vehicles to other planets instantly it seemed and met, through this captivating saga, entities that are downright eerie and fascinating. I immediately, upon opening the book, met Sven with his bionic arms along with his cloned team duo Delp and Klasen. Sven is a Reaper whose job is to execute, on order from the Rulers, the bad guys. I became attached to Sven even though his other-worldly genetics was rattling the cage within him. The author brings a world not yet known. There are bionic body parts, chips of high tech data, romance, and hologram crime scenes that one can review by stepping within it. Bloody gore scenes with bloody messages scrawled on walls led me to a terrifying realization that this could exist at some time in the future. There are Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, Oracles, Robots, Seers, and Healers with full-bloods and half-bloods thrown in the mix. Blended in with this “edge of the cliff” story is comradeship, issues of trust, memories of past, words of wisdom, antidotes, and clichés. There was never a dull moment as my imagination ran wild and free along with the cosmic array of characters. I read “Bloodline” in three readings and laid the book down only because I had work to do. I would recommend “Bloodline” to all readers, especially those who are interested in science fiction, horror, and mystery. Those who appreciate a well-written and visionary story will relish and devour this one as I did.Product details

I've haven't really ever been much of a sci-fi/ paranormal reader. But Blair Thorn's book has showed me what I'm missing! I REALLY enjoyed it! I can't wait for the next volume to come out. I would highly suggest this book to anyone whither they enjoy the the genre or not! If you enjoy good writing and a good story.
Knowing the author made reading her first book even more exciting. The book kept me interested from start to finish. Can't wait for the next book to come out..
I've always enjoyed dark fantasy/horror, and have read many of it's great authors such as Michael Moorcock, Robert E. Howard, H.P. Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, Stephen King, Clive Barker, and others, and now Blair M. Thorne is a wonderful author I can feel honored to count among their ranks.
I must say that this book grabbed me by the jugular in a Sith death-grip since the first chapter and didn't let go to the end. Could not put it down! Such rip-roaring action and suspense that leaves the pulse-pounding and one wondering where the next scrap between paranormal baddie and anti-hero is going to take place. And Sven Nulis is a great anti-hero. Complete badass! Whether its taking down vampires, werewolves, or demons, this guy is a crack-shot and a merciless executioner for his Empire and one would be well-advised not to get in his way, lest they end up blaster-food.....or worse!
I really enjoyed the futuristic science-fiction setting of this dark fantasy, and cannot wait for the next volume in the series. Not only is it great dark fantasy, but it is an awesome space-western as well. It pleasantly reminded me of a combination of Star Wars, Warhammer 40k, and Jim Butcher's "Dresden Series." Five out of five all the way!!
