I must admit that I am usually not a fan of the typical screenplay layout, but I am a big fan of the author so I went into this read open-minded. With that being said, and having just finished the work, I must say that I am very glad I chose to do so because it has left me more than satisfied with the author yet again.

The story is interesting and entertaining in many ways which made it easy for me to become immersed in, as well as due to the fact that I thought most of the character's were constructed quite well, but the main substance of this book comes from the lessons that can be learned through each of the character’s different perspectives and experiences with love (as well as heartbreak – which I’m sure many of us can relate to). Overall, I enjoyed the majority of read, though I do still prefer the author’s nonfiction work.

Keystone ~ An Unusual Love Story Romantic Escapades Exploring The Perplexing Nature Of Love And Heartbreak edition by Larry Mickelson Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews

Keystone, an unusual love story, goes with the Mystique of love unveiled, how to take control of your life, which was the first book I read from Larry Mickelson.
I was unsure if I was going to enjoy a screenplay, I usually don't like them, but this one was very different, in all points of view. It was entertaining, it applies to everyone's daily life, since the characters are experiencing difficulties that everyone could have in real life; I identified myself to them.
The author is solving the difficulties created by love, and the analysis in the screenplay meets the one in the other book, it makes it even more interesting.
After reading this book, be ready to have a changed vision of love and relationships. The book in unconventional, and that's what makes it so interesting.
I am awaiting for another book from this writer, hopefully he will publish again and share his ideas !
I am intrigued by the author's theory on "time-dependent" relationships, and how that concept defines much about what we view as "love." I was also fascinated by the discussion of the brain, specifically the amygdala and its role in our emotional response to situations. I would love to figure out how to give this part of my brain a little less control! That said, simply being more aware of what it does and how it works is already proving to be very helpful in my day to day life. The author manages to wrap a very scientific topic into a straightforward and easy to read love story that draws you in!
I was so enamored with this author's book about love that I decided to read his companion screenplay. At first I thought the screenplay a great disappointment. I didn't get what a group of horny, stiff-talking twenty-somethings had to do with anything.

But I continued reading anyway and I'm glad I did. About a fifth of the way into the screenplay, everything came together. At that point the author started talking about the concepts from the book. That was also the point I started caring about the characters and how things might work out for them.

This tale is told using a science fiction story device. In the screenplay, it is imagined that an operation is given to those who want to achieve a higher level of awareness regarding their emotions. Only a few are selected for this procedure and the outcome is compared to the practice of prayer, meditation, yoga and similar activities.

According to the theories of this book, emotions are a bad thing. The author gives many plausible reasons why he believes this to be so. He also goes into great depth about his theory that love is not an emotion.

I don't know if I agree with every concept that this author espouses but I will admit I appreciate learning any and all possible self-protection tools I might use regarding of the highs and lows of love.
At first, I was put off by some of my initial assessments of the play in the first few scenes (see below); however, when I stuck with the story I came to see sense that there was something to this story...

You get glimpses of this when you start the two female characters (Catherine and Karen) start acting strangely to events that would normally frighten people out of their senses. As you read a little more, you learn that Catherine and Karen are different and that they are a part of something weird in the same kind of way that the "Pleasantville" was. The plot to this screenplay is not as sinister, but it is still just as mysterious until the part of the play where one of the other major characters (Trent) gets more involved with Karen and the community that she comes from. Once you get to this point, you become more appreciative of what the author was trying to do with the work.

In short, the screenplay has potential, but it needs more polishing or a different genre to make it a stronger work. The beginning part of the play was a little bit forced to set the stage for the latter part of the play, which became a little comfortable. There also too many ideas the author has that will not fit the conventions of a screenplay; a novel or even a novella might be more appropriate. The strongest part of this book, personally, is the unique perspective the characters have on love and emotions. Readers who stick with the book will come to appreciate that as the lesson the author intends to leave with his audience.

Pros
* Intriguing psychological concept that serves to drive the story
* Takes a unique perspective on love that some might appreciate,
* Interesting mix of prose and play
* Becomes easier to connect with characters as story continues

Cons
* Some parts of the initial screenplay were too predictable and highly cliché storyline
* Does not adhere to the traditional screenplay conventions, which was a little confusing at first
* Little too much emphasis on innuendo in romantic scenes
* Ending a little weak, but still good
* Title needs to convey more mystery-Keystone is too easy of a name
